Splashing in color, watching paint dry…
describes both my process and art.

Nature and organic forms are my primary influences, exploring color and flow of shapes to create contemporary impressionist images. Painting is an adventure — experimenting and discovering new ways of seeing. As art develops new paths and ideas emerge, a constant dance of leading and following.

In addition to traditional art I have studied western lettering and calligraphy; and Chinese art, with emphasis on white space, spontaneous brushwork and experimental techniques. I use a variety of water and liquid media on diverse materials like sugar cane paper, Yupo recycled plastic, mineral paper (made from rocks). Each has unique characteristics that make painting engaging and challenging.

I hope you see something new in my work.
